Dream up a photography app for Jimmy’s End

Modern Jago is Microsoft's new space in Shoreditch for designers, developers and artists. We run and host events and open the space for folks to come down and co-work. Want to find out more about the space? You can have a chat to us on Twitter or Facebook, or find us in a bunch of other places.

There’s just one week left to enter our competition to develop an app concept that melds dreams and photography.

In the first of our Speaker Series events, experimental film makers Mitch Jenkins and Alan Moore invited developers to submit proposals for an app for their new film project, Jimmy’s End. Read on to find out how to enter.

  • Jimmy’s End is a richly detailed, multi-episode, non-linear series of interlinked films.
  • As part of project, Mitch and Alan are looking for an app developer to create a Jimmy’s End app.
  • Mitch envisages the final product to be a social networking photography app that enables you to use photography and technology to record your dreams. The images taken by the user should be able to be distorted, manipulated and modified.
  • The social networking element is key and how you see this working should be incorporated in your proposal alongside the creative ideas and elements.

One week left to enter!

Email your app ideas to suggestions@modernjago.co.uk by Friday 6 December. Each idea will be judged on whether it can actually be made into a real world app. Imagery/mood boards will help explain this further.

If your app idea is shortlisted, you’ll receive access to technical expertise, mentoring, training and workshops. If the idea is suitable, the opportunity is to work (on a paid basis of course) as part of Mitch’s team to develop the app.

So, get those ideas brewing and send them in to suggestions@modernjago.co.uk. We look forward to seeing them!
