Modern Jago is Microsoft's new space in Shoreditch for designers, developers and artists. We run and host events and open the space for folks to come down and co-work. Want to find out more about the space? You can have a chat to us on Twitter or Facebook, or find us in a bunch of other places.
New Year’s Eve, a good a reason as any to stock up the bar, re-fresh the playlist and dapper up for a celebration unlike any other…
The New Year’s resolutions can wait for one night! Here’s five top apps that tick all the boxes for a New Year’s night in. Do you have any other suggestions?
Drink up
Cocktail Flow is a free app for Windows 8 devices that allows you to discover cocktails you’ve never heard of before, or simply catch-up with forgotten favourite.
The app has beautifully presented recipes, step by step guides and shopping lists to play with, accommodating any and all Christmas leftovers or even the unopened bottle of spirit lurking in the back cupboard.

Quiz
Whether it’s a drinking game or festive quiz – there’s no better feeling than the pride (and bragging rights) that come with beating your family or friends in a test of intelligence! Well, there’s an app for that called How-to-Geek. With geeky trivia on topics including Sci-Fi, video games, geek history, science, and space – you’ll enter 2013 smarter than ever before.

Just Desserts!
Turkey, cheese, potatoes and mixed nuts – staple Christmas Day indulgences that last well in to the News Year, so by the time January comes around, we’ve had our fill of savoury! Our top recommendation for something sweet in the new year rests with Just Desserts, an app that’s all about satisfying our sweet tooth with enough recipes to keep you (and the kids) busy!
Movie Night
Sometimes going out on New Years Eve can be overrated and more trouble than it’s worth. So far, we have a cracking cocktail recipe, a cake baking in the oven and we’re warn out from playing a few games of How-to-Geek, what we need now is to put our feet up and be entertained. Netflix is the perfect app for that, with thousands of movies and TV shows to choose from!
Just one more game…
Because you can never have too many! Unlike the first, this one will cost you, but what’s £2.79 between friends? The premise of Chimpact? Simply throw your chimp around beautifully displayed landscapes to collect gems, medallions and the odd banana. There’s nothing more fulfilling than that.
